My Story (so far...)

I am originally from an IT Business & Corporate background, working long hours and many challenges. I had for a long time enjoyed receiving complementary therapies, to help with the stressful life style I had been leading – my preferred treatment was Reflexology, as I felt so calm and de-stressed for a significant time post treatment – I was able to sleep better and therefore cope with the pressures I dealt with daily.

It had always been in the back of my mind, that one day further in the future, I would re-train in something totally different to the Corporate world, to have a more balanced lifestyle, something to phase me into retirement (or semi-retirement) and I knew it would be Reflexology, because it interested me so much and I had felt great benefit from it, first hand.

In September 2012, I found a Level 3 Diploma course, which was running near to me in Norwich, so I enquired and before I knew it, I was on the course and submitting my business project, researching the history of Reflexology and completing case studies and practice treatments and realising that my dream was going to happen sooner than I thought.

After qualifying the following June, I established my business in September 2013, initially offering solely Reflexology. To maintain professional membership with the organisations that I belong to, it is a requirement to do a specified amount of annual CPD (Continual Professional Development), which I always look forward to, as I love learning new modalities and it means that I can then offer my clients additional treatments.

For the first 10 years of Sensitive Soles Therapies, my treatment room was at The Osteopathic Consultancy, firstly at Highball Climbing Wall and then we moved to St Augustines Street NR3, working alongside Osteopaths, Sports Massage Therapist and other Complementary Therapists.

October 2023, I moved my treatment room to the Thorpe End Clinic, which is also a multi disciplinary clinic, situated in Thorpe End Garden Village, and benefits from free parking outside the clinic, ground floor treatment room and is set back from the main road. There is a warm and friendly feel about the clinic and the surrounding area. I promote a safe and relaxing environment within my treatment room and your sessions with me will always be treated with complete confidentiality and privacy.

I feel very passionate about what I do, so much so, that when I was asked to become a teaching assistant on the Reflexology Diploma course, for the same school I qualified, I jumped at the chance, and after a number of years I was given the opportunity to teach the course and did so until 2023. During this time, I devised and delivered my own CPD workshops for qualified Reflexologists, which are Hand Reflexology and Hot Stones Reflexology and continue to do so.

During 2019 I was heavily involved in a Norfolk based charitable organisation, known as TherapyAid, whose aim was to provide NHS approved supportive therapies to Unpaid Carers in Norfolk, who may not normally be able to afford complementary therapies or have the time. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic the charity was closed. I continue to treat Carers (paid or unpaid) at a reduced cost, I also apply the reduction for NHS workers.

I really look forward to meeting you and helping you to enjoy the many benefits of the treatments I offer.
